Out of hours emergencies are now triaged by the NHS 111 service who will arrange appropriate further care/advice.  For the Out of hours service please ‘phone 111. If you need immediate urgent medical help, phone 999.

Carers are a relatively new NHS priority, and there is an excellent free support and advice service run by Crossroads. Cambridgeshire County Council also has information and support- see their webpage here.

Part of the problem is that carers often continue to provide care and not consider they are doing anything unusual- even when it all gets a bit much.

Are you a carer? Click if unsure!

Do feel free to bring the subject up with any of us at the Surgery- we would be happy to issue 'carers prescriptions' if you wish and occasionally need prompting to remember that this avenue exists!
